Preface
My cat Xiaohua is a village cat, and compared to city pets, she has a much stronger resistance. When using medication, you should adjust according to your own cat’s condition. When Xiaohua contracted FIP (Feline Infectious Peritonitis), she weighed 3.5 kg, had weak hind legs, was always lying down, had no energy, and was unwilling to move, but her eating and drinking were relatively normal. Here is my treatment experience, and I hope it helps others.
Determining FIP
First, you need to determine if your cat has FIP. If your cat is very lethargic, you can measure its temperature. If the temperature is high, you can consider using Lianhua Qingwen Capsules.
Treatment Process
Lianhua Qingwen Capsules
- Initially, I tried feeding the medication with a syringe, but Xiaohua always foamed at the mouth. Later, I divided one Lianhua Qingwen Capsule into two parts and put them into small capsules.
- Administer three times a day after meals. Continue until Xiaohua becomes energetic and eats well, then continue for one more day.
441
- Administer one injection per day.
- Blood supplements and liver protection medications are given sometimes.
Medication Order
- First, administer Lianhua Qingwen Capsules, and 2 hours later, give the 441 injection. Continue the treatment until Xiaohua recovers.
Medication Method
- Insert the medication through Xiaohua’s canine teeth and then hold her mouth shut. Later, when Xiaohua becomes more active, you can put the medication in her food, and she will lick it herself.
Measuring Temperature
- Use a thermometer on Xiaohua’s hind leg, apply slight pressure to support but not too much.
Hydration and Diet
- After administering medication, be sure to use a syringe to give Xiaohua water to help swallow the medication.
- If Xiaohua has a poor appetite, you can buy her fish to eat and provide good food.
Conclusion
Through this series of treatments, my Xiaohua gradually recovered her health. She is now lively and her weight has increased. I hope my experience can help other cat owners who are troubled by FIP. Please don’t give up easily; persist with the treatment, and your cat will surely get better.
